Sheng Siong was founded in 1985 by Mr. Lim Hock Chee and his two brothers, Lim Hock Eng and Lim Hock Leng. The business started from a small pork counter in a Savewell supermarket. When the Savewell chain faced financial difficulties, the Lim brothers took over the outlet and established the first Sheng Siong store.
